I'm posting this here because I very much doubt that anyone wants me to post in the plot thread, never mind if it's even possible in the first place. What I want to know is, what is the anima's relationship with wolves? From what I know, they are very much like Philip Pullman's Daemons, except that they never settle and cannot turn into large animals. Are there other differences? Not much is described about them, besides the fact that they feel what their partner feels, and vise versa. I know that they can speak silently to their wolves, and that if one dies, then the other dies as well.
But what about the other features that Daemons possess? Are they different, or do aminas share these characteristics as well? Ordinary Daemons cannot go farther than several meters from their human, or intense pain stresses their bond and generally drives one or the other to return to their other half. Also, it is taboo for a human to touch another person's Daemon, though other people's Daemons may touch each other. Is this also the case with animas? Or Are they just shape-shifting animals connected to the wolves through an empathetic link?
