| I wasn't sure where to put this... so yeah. xP These are some poems that I found while looking through the web. This one was sad. Prison Bars By Karen Evans
In memory of Contessa
These prison bars I sit behind From which there is no escape. Why didn't I get a second chance But, now it is too late.
I tried to live my master's way To put instincts aside. To disobey meant punishment And oh, how hard I tried.
I didn't mean to trash the house I did it just for fun. It's boring being in the house With no place I can run.
And when I got to go outdoors He put me on a chain. I'd run around in circles Till he'd come out again.
Uh oh, he found the hole I dug I did it to stay cool. He beat me with his balled up fists Oh, why is he so cruel?
My tail tucked between my legs I'm so scared that I pee. It doesn't matter what I do He's just so hard to please.
He doesn't even like the song I howl every night. He yells "shut up", and out he comes To start another fight.
I'm battered, bruised and all alone Is this how life should be? When all I wanted was his love And true acceptance of me.
For I can't help the way I am At times I feel so strange. I guess I'm like my ancestors That once had roamed the range.
So, here I sit on death row Trapped behind these bars. Soon to be a spirit Free amongst the stars.
I guess I'll never understand The punishment that he, Gave me each and every day For me just being me.

| Silent Paws Jerri K. McCann
Silent paws trotting on a well beaten trail, alone in the wilderness, so young and so frail.
Little yips go unanswered, the moon is now his guide, looking for ones just like him, or have all of them just died?
He sniffs the dampened ground and senses man everywhere, the silence is deafening no howls in the air.
Oh why did he venture so far from his den, while his pack fell silent at the hands of men?
His stomach is growling but the hunger he’ll endure, his pack family is out there it’s their blood he smells for sure.
He stops in his tracks and raises his head up high, the terror overwhelms him as he lets out another cry.
But still there’s no answer he can’t understand why, he’ll follow their trail or he surely will die.
For days now he’s traveled his spirit and body gone weak, he lies down in white clover no more energy left to speak.
Soon the soul hovers over this tiny, frail pup, whose future now will be guarded as his soul travels up.
What right does man have to take life from a living thing, that has no way to voice its defense against a human being?
The wolf is a symbol, a brother, a friend. it’s time now for action before his existence comes to an end.

| Amber Eyes By Rebecca Dupuis
With amber eyes he watches. Over his pack, his family. Strong together as they hunt for survival.
With angry eyes he sees. Fences across land, men with guns, and a thrill. He only kills to survive.
With sad eyes he looks. At sharp traps, the soft furs of his pups. They didn't run to survive.
So he asks, why did he survive? ------------------------------------ This one really made me cry... >.< The Cry By Karen Evans
He stands alone at the top of the hill And sings his mournful cry, His mate and cubs are missing He's not certain why.
He had been out hunting Was gone for only a day, And hurried back with empty jaws So scarce now was their prey.
He wasn't gone long Eager to get home, But the den was cold and empty And he sensed something was wrong.
The smell of man was everywhere With footprints in the dirt, And blood shed from his family He knew they had been hurt.
He sat and waited day by day With hopes they would return, There wasn't much he could do Except quietly sit and yearn.
Why would man come all this way To hunt and shoot them down, To interrupt their quiet lives When no harm had been done?
Their territory plainly marked And not once did they stray, For they would rather starve to death Than to get in man's way.
The smell of chickens, cows and sheep Were so tempting at times, But instincts warned not to hunt them Or they would lose their lives.
And so they lived a quiet life Existing on small game, Careful it was only wildlife And nothing man had tamed.
So he could find no reason For the blood shed on that day, So peacefully they lived here So far out of man's way.
Maybe they'd be coming back His cubbies and his mate, Wolves are mated once for life So he would sit and wait.
That was many moons ago And they have not come back, But he will not stop hoping For the reunion of his pack.
He now knows men are murderers But still does not know why, And every night he climbs his hill And sings his mournful cry.

| I know, I love these poems.. They're so sad, yet I can't stop reading them. Here's one I did a while back, not that good though. Howling to the Heavens A poem by WildWind.
I once lived on Earth, My paradise, my home. Man invaded while I was gone, Taking from me my family, and my life.
I howled out to the heavens, Giving hope, and I prayed; Bring them back safely, For they are the sky that I fly.
I continuously howled, Calling anything, anyone. But nothing ever came, And I was alone.
It'd been two years since Man came, And I still long for my mate, my pups. I fear they are dead, But I'll never give up hope.
I howled out to the heavens, Giving hope, and I prayed; Bring them back safely, For they are the sky that I fly.
One night I slept and I had a dream, The dream showed my family, my hope, my life. It told me nothing more, But I kept up a search.
The next night I had another dream, It told me of my mate, and my pups. It told me their whereabouts, But not of their lives.
I howled out to the heavens, Giving hope, and I prayed; Bring them back safely, For they are the sky that I fly.
I ran for miles, Across deserts, plains. I finally found them, Tucked safely between earth.
I lay beside them, Me, my mate, my pups different than before. A Man came to us, With a shining metal thing.
I howled out to the heavens, Thanking, giving praise; thank you for leading me, You are our protector, and may you live forever.
The Man pointed his object straight at me, I bowed my head, and I cried. For I would finally be with them, Forever and ever.
The last thing I knew was a loud noise, A blur, a pain. Then I saw clouds, And atop one was my mate, and my pups.
I howled out to the heavens, Giving love, and tears; For I had realized, That I was in the heavens. Edit: I found a pretty good poem, here it is: In the Goddess Times By Wolfbard (D.J. Sylvis)
In the goddess times when the moon reigns full And the pack starts up as they feel the pull And the paws push fast as they feel the night All the forest runs howling with delight
In the hunting times when the scent reigns thick When the ears are keen and the teeth are quick And the barks and yips sound along the path All the forest feeds and the savage laugh
In the quiet times when all sleep reigns still And the sated pack has no lust for thrill And the warmth of kin is their main desire All the forest rests by the quiet fire
In the threatened times when the dark reigns high And the shadows slink as they lurk nearby And the pack must fight growling back to back All the forest flees from the loyal pack
In the injured times when the blood reigns thick And there's wounded kin the pack moves in quick And the cure and care is on each sharp mind All the forest knows the pack can be kind
In the goddess times when the moon reigns full And the pack starts up as they feel the pull And the pack is one where their souls abide All the forest knows I am by their side

| That's awesome, WW. Really. :3 Sad, but really nice. I have one that isn't wolf related at all. I wrote it a couple of days ago. <.< Unsure By Twilight_Wolf
When I dream of you I feel whole. I feel warm. I feel complete. I feel loved.
But what I'm unsure about it whether you feel the same. Unsure whether you feel warm. Unsure whether you feel complete. Unsure whether you feel loved. Unsure whether you think of me.
This is the only nightmare that enter my dreams of you. It sucks really bad. xD

| heres i a poem i wrote. (i had to explain to some ppl what the poem means lets she if u guys can figure it out) DYING LOVE by Shadowwolf445
the love that i hold does not to a single creature of its kind but to all of its kind.
the creatures that i love are beautiful, majestic, kind, caring, understanding, loving but are misunderstood by man.
each day part of my love dies because of man's fear of what they don't understand.
the love i hold is a dying one, slowly fading away untill my love disappears completely leaving an empty hole in my heart, never again too be filled by the creatures that once saved me from the darkness in my own heart

| That's really good, Shadow, its a poem about the dying population of wolves I bet, isn't it? It's so sad, I couldnt imagine a world where wolves or tigers or bears never exsisted. In fact, if the wolves die out, mankind brings itself that much closer to the same fate. =/ People are so nieve... We've tampered with nature too much already, I honestly dont think theres much people can do to bring the earth back to a healthy state anymore. | |

| I'm a Fox in a Burrow By. Stephanie Cheyanne Hadley The night was dark, With it's moonlit sky, I am a fox in a burrow, Waiting, watching for food to come by. My stomach grows hungry, my legs start to ache, While I watch and I wait for pray. I'm a fox in a burrow, waiting for day, While I watch and wait, for light is on Its way. It is daytime now, Now I sleep, I dont make a sound, not even a peep. I tried my best, but my stomach is growling, I woke up later, and begins my howling. How was that? I was the one who wrote that! ^.^ |
