| Mitane. The prettiest island of them all. Or so they say. Snowest, had never been to Mitane. Therefore she had no need nor right to say that Mitane is buetiful. But she was going there now, to escape. No one there would know her; no one there would hate her. But the trip there would be exhausting. 3 days of no water, sorounded by water you cannot drink. Fish your only food. It was enough to drive a wolf insane. But Snowest was already insane. Snowest had already gone days without water. Snowest did not dislike fish. And to Snowest; she was allready at Mitane. Of course, her anima Jack knew better. For Jack knew that they were not there yet. They had only been traveling for a day and ahalf on the landbridge. Secretly, Jack wished to be like his wolf: uncaring, unneeding, happy. Insane. But still, Jack knew better. His wolf was not always happy. She was sane; but now she was insane more and more often. Only certain things drew her out of her mind. Like love: when Jack rested atop Snowest's shoulders, purring or humming with happiness. But Jack was doubting his love for Snowest. Just yesterday she had growled at him. Sure, he had deserved it, but it was still nervewracking for him. Jack did not know if Snowest could or would kill him in a fit of insanity. Thus was the mood of the trip: happy insanity and scared sanity. -------------------------------------------------------------------- (What do I do now?) | |

| The waves gently crashed over and across the crossroad, making the sand beneath the duo wet and moist. A few fish jumped about the salty ocean water, enjoying themselves on the cool day. To many the two's journey would look like a suicide trip, and many times they were correct. But a select few made it across, but whether this time was like the others was yet to be discovered. The wolf and Anima, slowly walking along the path to their destination, seemed strong now. But what of tomorrow? What of the day from that? Only time could tell what would happen.. Whether they would live, or die. And that was how the first day went, walking onward, until they had to stop in the dead of night to rest.
And then started the next day, but only time could tell what was to happen now.

| (okay) -----------------------------------(Snowest) When the sun rose, so did Snowest. A few stretches, then she was off. But Jack was not with her. He was still asleep. The sun's light glinted off fish scales, and the salty ocean breeze brought tantalizing fish scents. Perhaps Snowest would try to catch one. So she stood stock still. And waited. --------------------------------(Jack) Drowsy with sleep Jack did not realize at first that he was alone. But when he did it caused him to jump up with fright. It would shame him later, but theese were his thoughts: Is she going to leave me? Did she die? Is she waiting to kill me? When he calmed down he looked around. Only then did he see the patch of sand that was white. It was a while away. Was it Snowest? So he ran along what dry sand he could to get there. When he reached the white sand it was indead Snowest. And 2 fish. -------------------------------(Snowest) After the meal Snowest rose again. But not with the sun this time. No, this time she rose alone. And again she padded onward. In the wrong direction. ------------------------------(Both) With a sigh Jack followed to convince Snowest that she was going the wrong way. So then they walked onward, in the right direction. Soon it got to hard to see so they stopped. Both were thirsty, but atleast they went hungry. | |

| Another two lives sacrificed for the good of two others. But for how long could they thrive on mere meat, with no liquid to quench their thirst? It would all be told in due time, though what would be revealed was unclear. They could perish, along with those lives they had just ended, or they could continue, and reach their destination. The wolf's lips were dry, and cracking, resembling much like that of her Anima. The seawater teased and taunted them; for they could not drink it. The day seemed to stretch out longer than any other day, and the two's thirst was slowly beginning to show as their steps became shaky and weak. The shiny cobia's were little nourishing, and hunger came quick to the duo. But still they pressed on, determined to reach their goal. Dangerous creatures lurked in the dark blue deeps, and they needed to be cautious to avoid leaving a trail for the monsters to follow. But little to their knowledge, some were.
But soon the light of the sun was fading, and the darkness was creeping over the travelers, cold settling in on the path they were following. What would they decide tonight, and when the light returned? Would they die?
(Keep going; sorry for the wait. :3) | |

| (No problem)
-------------------(Jack) "What wrong deed have I done?" The words startled Jack; up until now silence had been his only company. Snowest had been padding along behind him, limbs shaky.
"Why does the water taunt me Jack?" This surprized him even more; he honestly has believed that Snowest had forgotten his name.
"I, I dont know." He decided to answer.
------------------(Snowest) Bah, I have an idiot for a companion. He sees water, he is thirsty, yet he does not drink. Stupid.
"You are stupid." feelings of shock emanated from her anima.
What was wrong with him? Had he hurt himself? "Jack! Whats wrong?"
-----------------(Jack) She called me stupid? He looked up to see her staring at him as if he were hurt. What?
Sighing he decided to ignore her and continued on. With his weakened eyes, he thought he could see Mitane. But who knows, it just might be a mirrage.
Didnt they have those on the ocean?
---------------(Snowest) Buetifull trees sorrounded her, canopys of lush green leaves. Small animals scattered away from her, for she was a great hunter: a wolf.
She was home, butterflys around her, lazing in the soft grass.
It was so soft, like sand...
---------------(Jack) For the gazilioneth time today a sound surprized Jack. It was a soft thump. A fish? No, that would make a splash. He stopped.
A feeling of great fear entered his heart as he turned around.
Oh, no..
---------------(Snowest) Sunlight glinted down, reflecting off her white fur. A light breeze blew through her fur. Little birds flitted around the trees, safe in the knowlage that the great wolf was sleeping.
But she wasnt, not yet. Sleep tugged at her. But something else was tugging too. The wind, why was it pulling her?
A feeling of joy coursed though her, the wind wanted to play! And so did she. Sleep forgotten she dashed up, and ran with the wind.
-------------(Jack) Oh no oh no oh no! Not now! The little fox had little luck in dragging SNowest's body accross the sand.
He yelped and scooted back when Snowest jumped up and dashed away.
"SNOWEST!! WAIT!" He yelled after her. Abeit slow and weak, she was still faster than him.
Soon she receaded into the distance and the hungry night decended apon it's prey.

| It seemed unusually quiet. A little too quiet? Not exactly like that, but it's an alright way to put it. Normally the waves would make a louder noise, but at that time, in the dead of night, they made no sound. Could is just be dehydration, or were they just imagining things? Or did they notice at all? Only the sky and the sea could read their faces wisely; to be able to tell what was on their mind. But could they? Or was that an illusion too? Or did they even know about it? Even if all of these things were true, false, or unknown, the two trudged onward, unaware of the danger that lurked along their side. What was it? It was hidden beneath the swinging waves, invisible to anything above the dark surface. Only when they prepared to sleep would he attack; then he would make his attempt to catch his prey. But it was getting impatient. They continued to travel through the night, and he couldn't wait much longer, for they could reach shore by the next day, if they survived. And when the sun rose, his cover would be blown, and he'd have no meal. So, what would he do? He could try now, while they're completely awake, or wait to see if they'd try to sleep. No. He'd strike now.
He stayed low, careful to be unknown to them, but still closer than before. He'd need to act fast, otherwise they may get away. Or else he'd miss his chance. Not many wolves had made it this far, and not in a long while. Not many even dared try and venture along the crossroads, but either way, he still managed to get a meal now and then. He wasn't weak; no, not even close. He could swim fast enough to go between the land bridges whenever he wished, and in a day at the most to venture to one to the other. He had begun his venture from the Reon bridge two days ago, and arrived in the past day. Soon he could feast.
The ocean began to sway more wild than a mere few minutes ago, and the sky showed signs of rain. Both the sky and the ocean, not only reading Snowest and Jack's faces, but also the danger of the sea. They could tell another creature of intellect was going to die, and they prepared to wash them from the path of Mitane. They readied for the attack of Morsadactus, what the wolves called Death Bringer as he killed them. Now, in his mind, this would be no different of a time. But, like in all stories with the heroes and the villains, the villains always were defeated, right? He, on the otherhand, was more on the side of winning. But who knows, he could end up being killed, or chased away with wounds bleeding into the salty sea. Or he could win yet again, feasting upon the flesh that he could so easily kill. But he was done thinking, it was time to attack.
He had fallen considerably far behind his prey; not by lack of speed, just by his tactics of hunting. But his pace quickened, and he soon was speeding towards them at great speeds. The distance between them was cut in half, and the beast veered sharpy to the right- as he was on the right side of them- and made a half-circle to charge towards them. When he was close enough, he leaped out of the water with such speed that he seemed to be a blur. He attempted to bite at the small Anima, but missed and probably only bit into a leg, but it was hard to tell. He landed on the opposite side now, and veered onward to prepare for another attack.
(I hope this isn't too confusing for you, my mind wanders off at times.. ^^") | |

| (okay, just act like the whole world didnt suddenly freeze right? And if you have a character in the adoption thing, does it still count? Or do you have a new character slot? The new island's cave sound enticing..) ---(Jack)As if in a daze Jack wandered along slowly. It had been so long, or had it? He often wondered, was his mind being affected by Snowest? It was so hard to tell, besides, it was complicated to think about. In his weakened state, Jack just didnt really care that much. Barely a sound or sight was registered. Something stirred at the back of his mind; a sense of foreboding. The poor fox hadn't a second to consider before a large object flashed across his vision. A strangled howl escaped his parched throat as he felt his leg in an iron grip. ---(Snowest)A sound, harsh and grating, somehow found it's way out of the wolf's maw. Interupted constantly by gasps of air rushing in(or out), the strange sound could barely be registered as what it was. It was infact, humming; kind of. A little ditty(meant to be howled) came from Snowest's throat. It was really quite absurd actually, but then again, Snowest wasn't exactly a normal wolf. . .. .... .. .. ....... .....
there, really is, no way. no way.
.. .... ..........
no way. there is no way, that we cant. we cant. we cant.
....... .... ... ... ..........
we cant. there is no way we cant, howl. howl. howl. howwwlllll.
... ... ...... ..... ... . . ..... Then a sound, accompiaded by a sharp pain to the leg, momentarily broke through Snowest's haze. ---(Jack)The sound of the thing landing jolted Jack out of his terrified freeze. One glance at what the darkness permited him to see confirmed that he and Snowest really had no chance of running away from the beast. It also comfirmed that any attempts to fight it would probaly also fail. 'Great.' | |
