Roaming

Mudpelt wanderd through the dead foliage that covered the forest ground. Kunamition was fast on her heels. Mudpelt, even though she had Kunamition, always felt a small loneliness in her. Her parents gone, her friend run off it was hard not to feel sorry for herself.
Mudpelt soon came to a small stream that she knew well. She looked down at the water and in its depths she saw a small brown wolf playing heartily with a larger male black wolf. They seemed so innocent. Mudpelt knew those wolves. She and Fang had spent countless hours frolicking in its shallow water. The memory brought tears to her eyes. Kunamition saw her crying and tryed to make her laugh.
" You don't have to cry every time you look at yourself. I personally don 't think you look that bad," She said, but traily off seeing that it wasn't doing any good.
" Its fine Kuna," Mudpelt said and turned slowly back to the path.

Mudpelt had walked for a few more hours after the stream inccident. She had been hungry and caught a small white rabbit. She soon found a little cove insid a huge tree. It was surrounded by a wall of soft moss hanging from the opening of the cove. That maded it a little more private. There were was also enough moss for bedding. She took the rabbit inside, set it down, tore off some soft moss, and lay it down. Kunamition was outside nibbling on some soft grass and wild flowers. Mudpelt lay down to finish off her rabbit.
Afterwards she felt exhausted after her long day. But there was still one ritual left to do. She walked out of her new home and sat facing the way she ahd come. Instantly she let out a earsplitting howl that was ment to welcome any wolves from near by. Mudpelt was lonely.

a golden brown and white blur shot passed the trees, followed by a golden-tinged bobcat, with white swirling marking on its sides. They both leapt over a decaying log and through some dead leaves, their pawsteps thudding on the soft ground. The one in front, a wolf, was nearing it's target; a rabbit. He was getting closer, and closer still, but the trail forked, and the rabbit darted another direction too fast for the wolf to turn. He ran past and slowed to a stop before watching his dinner bound away into the bushes. He was panting hard, and as the bobcat caught up with him, it changed form into a pine marten and streatched itself oyu onto the cool, damp forest floor.

The wolf was in the process of laying down too but a noise in the distance mad him freeze. It was a howl of another wolf, not far off to Keovi's prediction. "Takara, you hear that? I'm gonna go check it out..." He murmured, as the little marten just flicked her ear and buried her face in the leaves exhaustedly. Keovi continued down the trail he was running, ears perked for another sound.

Mudpelt was startled by a noise.
" Whose ther," She called warily. Kuna rushed to her side.

He stopped at a voice. Takara had caught up with him again, and was now skillfully climbing a tree for a better view. 'It's a wolf, Looks like she's alone. Stay here.' She jumped onto another tree branch and ran along it, jumping to another until she was close to the wolf. She stayed up in the tree but watched her for a moment. She saw another animal walk up beside her, and knew it was the wolf's Anima. 'Yep, they're alone.' She silently called back to Keovi, who was now sitting on the path, looking in the direction Takara disappeared. 'Alright.' He responded. He followed her up the path, sniffing the air cautiously before he finally was able to see where she went.

Mudpelt trained her sharp eyes to a sound of voces it was near some bushes.
" Are you a frined or an enemy," her mother had taught her to say that to all strangers.

Takara followed the wolf's eyes to where she knew Keovi was. She jumped down from the branch to divert her attention and said, " Depends, what're you?" She tilted her head to a side, and flicked an ear. Keovi put his ears down and showed himself, reaching cautiously for Takara's tail to pull her away. " Leave 'em be Takara.." He mumbled, clearly feeling shy at the moment. Takara swiped her tail away from his reach, gaze still on the other wolf.

She walked into the moonlight so the other wolf could see her. The moonlight gleamed off her lovely coat beautifully.
" I am a friend. I was born here. My name is Mudpelt," Mudpelt said being friendly.

Takara seemed satified and relaxed, falling onto her back side to clean the markings on her sides, then licking her paws. Keovi took a few small steps out of the leaves and stood beside her, still keeping low, but he tried to make his tail wag a little. "Oh, good. I hope she isn't bothering you, tends to be a little too curious at times. " He said, nodding over to Takara who was now fidgeting with the leaves on the ground, trying to make a suitable resting spot.

" Oh no she wasnt. Kuna right here is just as curious," She chuckled softly.
" Do you have a pack," Mudpelt asked curiously, " See Im curious too. And it wouldnt hurt if you gave me your name, would it," Mudpelt said.

"Oh right, sorry. I'm Keovi. And no, I don't have a pack." He said quietly. He looked down at Takara, who had started piling up leaves in boredom. A small gust of wind blew the leaves and scattered them around the ground once more. Takara seemed to know it was Keovi and glared up at him before jumping onto his fluffy neck and chewing on his ears. This cheered him up considerably, he was freely wagging his tail and trying to shake her off.

" Keovi, thats a nice name," Mudpelt chuckled at the wolef and his Anima.

A small smile finnaly was visible on keovi's face. " Thanks," He said. " what's your name?" He asked. Takara slid down off his back and started sniffing the ground, picking up traces of food nearby, and pushed her nose through the leaves on the ground, looking for the source.

Mudpelt smiled back at Keovi. SHe was happy that she had made him happy.
" My names Mudpelt and this little furball is Kunamition," Mudpelt said pointing with her tail to her Anima

Keovi was wagging his tail. " Well nice to meet you." He said, and Sat down, now watching Takara and following her gaze to the hidden den in the tree where Mudpelt emerged. He too could scent something in there, reminding him of his empty stomach. Takara was the one who spoke first, saying, " We were just out hunting, and being unsuccessful are still a little hungry. Keovi, we should probably try one last time in lookin for a meal, I think there might be something down by the lake we can eat." She finished, turning to Keovi, and giving him a questioning look. Keovi seemed to agree, he looked back to Mudpelt. " She's right. We'll go now, Maybe see you around."

" Wait I caught something earlier and i was finished with it. Help yourselves," Mudpelt said dragging out her earlier prey.

Keovi was about to turn away, and said, " No, we couldn't possible take that from you." Takara glared at him. " Yes we can..." She looked to the meat hungrily. " Oh fine... " He sighed. " Thank you Mudpelt."

" My pleasure," Mudpelt said happy to be helpful.

Keovi took the carcass and was finished with it in just a few minutes. Takara sat next to him as a tiny brown field mouse, nibbling on one of the bones. Keovi sniffed the ground for any extra scraps then decided it was gone. " Thanks again, we haven't eaten in a while." Takara nodded absentmindedly, still trying to clean the small bone in her hands completely before calling it done.

" Your welcome," Mudpelt said. She was about to ask if they had a place to sleep when Kuna nudged her.
" I dont like them. They ate all our food," Kunamition said suspiciously. Mudpelt bumped Kuna.

Takara, finished with her bone, now took the form of a raccoon and climbed up the nearest tree to sit down and clean her fur. Keovi however had sat down on the edge of bushes and thick plantlife and stared into the distant trees. His ears lowered and he turned his head back to Mudpelt and Kuna. " We really should go now, it's getting darker. See you." He murmered and got up, making his way through the trees back to where he had lost the rabbit.

Takara was late to follow, still sitting in the tree by the others, changed back into a Pine marten. She glanced down to Kuna and smiled faintly. " He's still just shy. Takes a while for him to warm up to anyone. Sorry." She finished, and leapt down from the tree.

" Thats ok," Mudpelt said. She then turned around to her den and fell asleep.

Mudpelt woke up to the sound of songbirds. She could tell today was going to be a good day. She got up, strected, caught another small rabbit, and ate it. Kuna muched on some grass while Mudpelt finished up with the rabbit. They both took a drink from I small but cold stream near Mudpelt den.
" Kuna, I'd like to see if Keovi is doing ok. We'll take another rabbit and follow his trail. I think he'd appreciate that," Mudpelt said.

" Whatever you say," kunamition said. He didnt like Keovi that much. Mudpelt went back to her den, took the rest of the rabbit, and followed Keovis scent.

A white wolf appeared in a clearing. Leaves crunched under her foot. A raven perched on her shoulder, which quickly changed into a kangaroo rat. "Any sign of other wolves?" The white wolf, Flameheart, asked. Her paws were moving at a steady pace. She could smell the faint scent of wolves ahead. She decided to wait and see if they were okey or not. She crouched in the bushes, whith Knox on her shoulder. She hoped that her white fur didn't stand out. who are they? Flameheart heard Knox ask. He rarely talked to her like that. Through our minds, Flameheart thought. I think they are good, but let's wait and see Flameheart replied. She looked at an old camp. It seemed long ago that wolves had stayed there. Carefully, Flameheart walked quietly to where the cave was. Knox bounced beside her, and he looked at the leaves which were spread out. "Where did they go?" Flameheart asked. "It smells like they went to the lake," Knox replied. (continued at lake)
