round robin story!

Okay, you post as much as you want word-wise that relates to the part above it. This will form a story. Please don't do anything inappropriate, and no plagarism!

I will start:


Dawn rose over the mountains, and the plains below were still in the frosty morning.

Up in a lone tree, A red cardinal sang it's song, echoing across the still battleground. It looked so peaceful for the place of destruction that was to come.

As the cardinal sang, a group of bluejays joined in. Then all fell silent. Not the comforting silence of an early morning, but the silence before great destruction. A tight formation of battle-hungry wolves marched at a slow, steady pace across the plains. Soon after, an equally matched group of wolves marched towards the first. They met not five feet withing each other. They were met by snarls, flattened ears, raised hackles and bristling fur.

The old, grizzled leader of one spoke. "Leave now, and we will do no harm"
The young leader spoke "As long as my name is Dawn, you shall never win, Scar!" With that she hurled upon him, and soon the field was in turmoil.

War growled her agreement and took part in the fighting, she bit his muzzle
and scratched his face

Kilala surged towards the battle, clawing and biting a path through. Dawn wasn't doing good, and Kilala had to help her leader. Scar didn't see the she-wolf coming, and she launched herself at the grizzled old leader. She threw him off balance, giving Dawn enough time to regain her feet. And so the battle continued. Many lives were lost.

Brushfire growled in agreement with Dawn. He had prepared himself for this battle for a long time and there was no way he and his leader were going to stand down. The pack led by Dawn surged forward and clashed with the rival pack. Brushfire launched himself at the nearest wolf who stepped too close to Dawn and sank his teeth into it's shoulder. He stayed close to her during the fight, protecting her and himself the best he could.

Scar leapt up and launched himself onto his daughter, Dawn, making a gash in her shoulder.

Flash saw Dawn get hit and attacked him, but was bowled over by dawn, who snarled "This is my fight"

Storm clouds gathered over the sky, and fat raindrops fell. Thunder roared and lightning flashed, and the battle paused as each side retreated to the shelter of bushes. Meanwhile, a pup was born. A small black one, born to the wolves of the mountain. His mother, Aqua, named him Stone. Night fell, and all was quiet until the sun came up, and the leaders met. "Dawn, give us your land, or I will be forced to do something I regret, slay all of you" he said quietly. Dawn stared at him defiantly "Never!" And the fight went on. It carried on for many years, and Stone grew up to a pup. The peaceful mountain pack was losing to the blood thirsty valley pack.

At last Scar was winning, and killed most of the pack. Dawn, War, Flash, Brushfire, Kilala, Aqua, and a pawful of others remained. Scar killed Aqua in his haste to kill the small wolf beneath her. He staered at the old wolf with solemn eyes and "Peace on earth" was all he said. Scar turned back and thought about all he had slain. His pack left the valley that night, in search of a better place. The mountain pack was left staring at an empty field filled with those slain. At last Dawn spoke "Come, let us bury all of the slain" and began to dig a large hole.

Kilala's sad amber eyes watched the battlefield emptily as her numb paws helped the rest of the pack dig the large burial hole. Her thoughts remained on Aqua, her best friend and sister. As she lay dying, Aqua had asked Kilala to look out for Stone, her only child. Out loud, she promised: "I swear, on my own life, that I will protect Stone. It is the only thing I can do for you, beloved sister." She gazed at the empty sky, a single tear dripping slowly down her cheek.

Dawn was crying, but remained strong. After a week, she said to the others "We need more food" With that She called off names. "War, Flash, Brushfire, Kilala......Stone." With that she turned and walked doggedly offf. She was tired, they were all tired, they needed food and rest.

Brushfire hunched over, his body seeming to suddenly weigh several hundred pounds. His paws ached, but he did not stop or complain as he helped to dig with the remaining pack. He crouched beside a small white form, not yet buried. The white male's energy would never cheer him up again. This wolf, his best friend, lay here at his paws, unmoving and utterly lifeless. Silent tears rolled down his muzzle, landing on his snowy coat. "I promise I'll never forget you, friend," he murmured, turning away as his name was called. He had to let go; he was gone.

Dawn called to the hunting party and loped off. She caught some rabbits and small prey, but waited for the scent of a deer. When she caught it she called to her pack. Then she whispered one word "surround"
