Mitora and Cureyn- exploring

Ocean was the first to wake. He was carefull not to wake Arella as he left the den. He trotted along a well worn path to the river. He was just a few yards away from the strnger wolf's den. Dipping his head in to take a drink Ocean thought he saw something.

(Sorry for the short post, i just finnished alot of homework and my brain wont work )


Ocean was surprised to see a talking otter pop up. For a minute he was quiet then he remembered that it was Kaito's anima. "Good morning too." Ocean smiled. It was nice to speak to someone other than Arella.

Kaito, come on. It's Ocean, the anima called loudly. Kaito knew she was trying to force him to come up. He was reluctant to go along with it. He didn't want to give Tai Li the idea that she could manipulate him. But the song he had heard the other night rang in his ears, and befor the silver wolf knew it, he was swimming to the surface.

He broke the surface and looked at Ocean for a moment, his head bobbing in the water. In a taciturn manner, he slowly emerged and completely and clawed his way to shore. His webbed paws became normal again and his gills were fading.

"Good morning," he said, toneless. He shook his pelt a little. "Where's Arella?"

It was an observation he had made immediately when he first came to surface, but it gave him something to talk about.

"So they remember my name." Ocean thought. Ocean studied Kaito as he came out. As Kaito asked about Arella Ocean felt her stirring. "Shes just waking up," replied Ocean, "So do you like the den? I allways thought it was too uncomtfortable." Ocean sat to be more comfortable.

True as Ocean had said Arella was just waking up. Little rays of sun danced around her paws and dust motes swirled above her. Imeadiatly she noticed that Ocean was gone only to have him think to her where he was. Arella jumped up excitedly, Kaito and Tai Li were up! She dashed out of the den on he way to the river. She took a shortcut as to get there quikly. When she arrived she slowed down to a trot and morphed into her dove form. She landed on Oceans head and chirped a 'good morning'.

Ocean was pleased that Kaito didnt mind the den. Ocean smiled when he heard the Tai Li had remodeled the den. At Kaito's statement about the day Ocean looked up at the sky to see that Kaito was right. At Kaito's other question Ocean turned back to him. He was silent for a few minets, mulling it over. His smile dwindled down to a thin line. Ocean sat a huge grin breaking out across his face. "Of course you can hunt here. Weve got plenty to spare."

Arella flapped down off Ocean's head in front of Tai. "Same to you freind." Arella twirped with another smile. "Do you like it here?" She asked, "Does Kaito?" Arella lowered her head a bit out of curiosity, she hoped that she hadnt pried.

Ocean thought it was odd that Kaito's voice bore no emotion. but he didnt dwell on the faCT. Instead he sat contentedly,eyes closed, the sun warming his face.

Arella was quite happy that Tai Li liked it here. She almost broke into laughter at a thought when she herd about Kaito. "Well, theres plenty of water here. Im glad you both like it here." Arella puffed.

Ocean herd them walk away. He stretched a bit and pondered the idea of going to the willow. When Kaito spoke Ocean was surprized. He opened his eyes and stood. He blincked at Kaito then said warmly, "Why of course.If thats okay with you."

Arella wishjed that Tai Li could stay a littl longer. What she herd next shocked her a bit. But not as much as Ocean. She twittered softly to herself, deciding to morph into a cat for the hunt. That was, If Kaito let them join.

Ocean followed Kaito, His nose lifted. But it was lifted so he could scent prey.

Arella's mouth was open slightly as she padded besides Tai Li. Warm air washed into her mouth and over the roof of her jaw. Manny scents washed over Arella and it took some concentration to sort through them all.

"Yes, it is." Arella answered. She had answered for Ocean because she knew that Ocean had a scent.

Ocean did indeed have a scent locked in his nostrills. In fact it was a rabbit, a family member of the rabbit Kaito caught. As Ocean began crawling twards the scent he almost started drooling.

Arella smiled as Ocean dashed into a bush. Then she darted forward as the rabbit was chaced to her by Ocean. Arella's teeth sunk into the rabbit's flesh. The rabbit gave a feeble kick then all was still.

Arella's answer was lost in the rabbit's fur. Ocean padded out and he and Arella shared the rabbit. They wernt feeling hungry enough to go hunt for more. "Good catch to both of you." Ocean said to Kaito and Tai Li. Arella was slightly confused when she saw Kaito and Tai burry their food. But Ocean's tail drifted over her mouth before she could ask, causing her to sneeze.

Arella changed into a dove and flew off to the other side of the territory. She came to her favorite place. The bach sand was especialy soft here. There was a ring of rocks coming out from the edge of the water in a crescent. Arella did not know how but some how a weeping willow was in the middle of the crescent. When Ocean and Arella had first found this place the tree was young and dieing. Ocean had dug a small stream going from the bigger stream to the tree and then into the ocean. After that the tree had florished.

Arella landed near the tree and morphed into a cat. She padded over to the willow and sat in her favorite spot. In this spot she was in the willow's cool shadow. The sand carresed Arella's paws. It was her favorite spot because she could see out into the sky. The ocean rolled beneath the sky and willow branches and leaves rimmed the veiw. In the distance you could partly see the closest island. The sun allmost always seemed to hang right above the island. At night the moon cast moonlight and shadows in lovely patterns apon the sand and hung in the same spot as the sun. Sighing with contentment Arella laid down. Then she closed her eyes and drifted.

Before Ocean could answer Arella said, "We'd love too! Ocean and I have a special place that we love. Follow me!" then Arella bounded off. Ocean laughed and followed, but at a slower pace. Finally they got there.

Tai Li happily morphed from her sluggish wolverine form to a graceful robin. She chirped happily in agreement and soared after Arella. She even did a few barrel rolls in excitement.

Kaito looked after the others and shrugged. He felt as icy as he always did, but it seemed like a good idea to have the meal together. Quietly, he padded to Ocean's side and kept pace with him.

Ocean wished that Kaito would loosen up. Did this wolf have no emotions? That was imposible. Yet Ocean felt patient, there was no need to rush things. That would just drive a wedge between them. Not a good idea. As allways Ocean smiled when he saw Arella and his secret hideaway.

Arella lighted down on one of the willow's branches so lightly that the branch barely wobbled. The sun hung in the above the nearest island. A slight breeze made the willow sway with the ocean's waves. Sand swirled in little eddies.

Ocean laughed at Arella, "Wernt we going to eat?" Arella squawked in embaresment and flew down to Ocean. They sat and Ocean began eating. Arella looked at Kaito and Tai. She smiled at them, such good freinds.

When Ocean was finneshed he sighed with contentment, laying down on his side. His eyes were closed as the sun warmed his face. A cool breeze washed over him, ruffling his fur. His body was faced to the ocean and the rythmic lapping of the waves soothed his ears.

Arella hopped over to Tai, beak wide in a smile. Seeing where Kaito was looking Arella said, "It's so beutiful isnt it? So calm. I wish Ocean had gills and fins, then we could swim forever.." Arella's smile took on a dreamy look.
