| Soft paw prints trailed behind the white wolfess, with the morning rays of sunlight beginning to shimmer gently against her and the snow's white coats. Her slow steps became slower, and slower, until she looked as if she would stop completely. But she didn't, and continued to walk along the snow-covered woods, her head turned to face forward yet again. Her blue eyes lowered downward, her neck straight and her head a little low. She had hoped for much louder movements behind her, but it seemed that they went completely quiet. Not only did that go quiet, but it seemed that all of the woods had fallen silent; Birds were no longer singing, the wind grew to a dim breeze, and the woods concealed all sound from the river and lagoon. It seemed that the female was left alone in an empty world.
But something told her to look back. Something told her that the male she wanted to follow would follow. Her head raised partially, and turned to see the brown brute. His eyes sparkled and shone in the sunshine; Those beautiful silver eyes that matched his even more dazzling pelt. The female's eyes held a bit of sadness, but merely because she seemed to be nothing but a bother to him; A pest that just wouldn't go away. Her ears fell softly against her head, and she became less and less excited the more and more time he stood still; Not moving from the last place she had seen him. Her neck pushed her muzzle lower slightly; Her mind beginning to question her decision, and her heart becoming slower and more saddened. Angel's lips became dry, her jowls parted a bit, as she tried to find what to say. Then, she finally found her words.
But, before she could speak, something distracted her. It wasn't a gush of wind, it wasn't a bird, and it wasn't anything else. It was him. He had taken off into the sky and rushed past her, and when he did so everything seemed to once again come alive. Birds started to chirp and whistle, the wind became wind again, and the trees rustled among the breeze. The white wolfess turned half-way to face where the male had flown. A small grin caressed her maw, and soon she was facing him fully. Her right wing unfolded softly, and soon her left did also. Soon her pace picked up, and her heart began to race yet again; Ready to run, ready to fly. Angel let her body control her instead of her mind; Allowing this moment to pass instead of preventing it. Her pace quickened, and her wings spread out as far as they could in the open forest trail. Angel's wings flapped hard, pushing herself off of the ground. She hadn't done it in a long time, when she was a pup; But her parents had shouted at her for doing so, and she'd never done it since. It seemed like only a small moment before she was beside him. She was smaller, more slender, and she'd be able to get past him with ease, but she stayed next to him; She wanted to enjoy this for as long as she could.

Powerful bursts of air moved the brown male forward through he air, his wings keeping a rythmatical beat each time they were forced down by his strong muscles. For a moment a thought crossed his mind that the female he had just confessed his love for had run away. No sound came from behind him that told him she was still there. The brute's metallic eyes glanced backward and a flurry of white came at him. Kodiak smiled, seeing Angel fly up to meet him. He knew that she could easily outrun, or fly, him, as he was so much heavier than she was, but despite that fact, she stayed beside him. Another wing beat brought them closer and closer to where the others waited, and the amle felt his spirits shrink. He had had a wonderful time just now with the white female at his side, lying in the snow with her beside the river without a care in the world. The only two exsisting right then was her and himself, coexisting happily beside one another. Though he knew he ahd to get back to his pack, to his new family. At least Angel was coming with him; he could rely on her and not have to take all the pressure on himself. She was someone he could lean on, someone who would be there for him. He needed that.
Though, besides the knowledge that he had to return, he didn't want to. Was this what a true alpha was supposed to feel? Of course he cared for his pack members, and he'd do anything to keep them safe and out of harms way. But that one single moment just now with Angel changed the way he thought. Before it was all about the pack, he didn't mind what happened to him. But now all he wanted to do was spend his life with this female, to not have any respinsibilities that an alpha would. It'd just be the two of them. A new thought crossed his mind, and his spirit sank lower. Shadowclaw. The wolf he had failed to make amends with. Kodiak almost thought that it was Shadowclaw's way of thinking to make his life miserable. He'd have to do something about him. Soon. Before anything happened. A fight was the last thing he wanted, but that's what it was coming to. Hopefully the new wolf, Phantos, would be able to tame him, to reel in his anger. Kodiak just couldn't see how anyone would be able to love that wolf, who repeatedly insulted him and attempted to take Angel away from him. Kodiak sighed. He was ruining the moment he had right now with Angel. Here, in the open air, he felt free.

| ooc;; Ughhh terribly sorry for late reply, my muse slipped out of me. So here you go: failpost! After these posts shall we start a new topic in the lagoon?
Time flies When you're havin' fun
Head in the breeze, paws in the sky.. This was perfect. The softly sounds of the two's wing-beats soothed the wolfess with the greatest of ease, seeming to wash away all her worries for a moment. It felt like before, at the river's edge, only this time it was so much quieter.. No more roaring river. Along the way, she had closed her eyes; Trying to take in the moment the best she could. But when she opened her eyes her heart sank inside her chest, and her spirits died with it. They were almost to the lagoon, just a few mere feet ahead.
The female lowered her forepaws to reach for the ground, and once she was satisfied, she began slowing her wings. Her chest heaved a large, sad sigh as she fully landed on all four of her legs. She had been having so much fun, she didn't think it would ever end. But it did, and she knew she had to go back. She wanted to go back; Some of her, at least. She wanted to see Wing's face again. Though it'd only been a few hours, she couldn't wait to tell him, or anyone in fact, the news. The white wolfess was slightly rushing to get back but it seemed that her exhaustion had caught up to her. She collapsed. Her paws brought her upward again, but she was shaky.. She hadn't gotten any sleep, and it was already a good hour from dawn. She wasn't built to stay strong after all of what had happened to her for the last few hours. She had stayed up extremely late, and did a race with Kodiak? She hadn't done a race, or even spread her wings in ages. With a few wary steps, Angel collapsed yet again.
This time she was struggling to stand back up. She had pushed herself too hard, and it would be dangerous if she continued much longer. She could pass out, and what good would that do? None. But she knew that the falls would get worse, and she'd just get weaker from trying to push onward. Her ears flattened against her head, and for a moment she was willing to ask for assistance. But that moment passed, as she wanted to show that she could be strong. Though, she didn't know if she actually could do it, but she had to try, right? Angel's legs pulled her forward, but it didn't seem to help, as she was still half-way on the ground. She felt pathetic, weak, and all together helpless. It reminded her of when she was with her family. She could barely even fly back then. At least that's a plus side, being able to fly and all. She shook the thoughts away and tried once more, still unable to get up. She felt even more as a burden, all she did was stay up a little race and fly a semi-short distance, and she's sitting there collapsing on the ground every two steps! She wouldn't blame Kodiak if he just left her there right now. She couldn't see him, so she really didn't have any idea whether he was still flying or not.

| Kodiak's happy grin faded as the two continued to soar through the air, and it wasn't just because he saw the familiar lagoon up ahead. It was simply because he didn't want this moment with Angel to end. His brown ears twitched backward as he heard a disturbance; or rather, the lack of one. Instead of four wing beats, he only heard two; his own. Angels' had died away without him knowing. He threw a quick glance over his shoulder but saw nothing more than bushes and trees. Had she finally fleed from him? A small panicked tingle ran through his body and he turned around quickly to search for his white angel. Finally, he spotted her. It seemed as though she were struggling to get up, like she'd run too far and was out of breath. A small amused grin creased his maw as he landed gently next to her, but concern filled his silver eyes. "Need some help?" he offered, lowering his head to nudge at her side encouragingly. "I have a shoulder to spare. Once we get back to the lagoon you can go right to sleep." | |
