Finally...

Nightwalker shook his head "i'm not sure where i want to go, i just want to get away from here" he hadn't really thought about where he wanted to go but he was through with these wolves "if you know of a place we can go i'm all ears"

Nightwalker readyied his senses for the trip he sorted out the different scents around him. he perked up his ears to hear sounds better "ok then lets go."

Dawn watched them leave. She was sad to see Nightwalker go, but it was time for her to leave also. She sighed and turned the other direction. "Come on Elleron, lets go," she said, almost so quietly that Elleron could hardly hear her. He lowered his tail, sad to leave Delila and Nightwalker, but he would always follow Dawn. "Okay," he replied and walked after her. Dawn took one glance back, but then turned back to the path ahead and stalked on. Her life as a loner was still ahead of her.

Keovi was almost drifting into sleep when he heard the scuffling of paws and soft voices. He opened an eye and watched as Nightwalker, Dawn and Cloe Left. He didn't get up, only laid there staring into the distant trees, thinking a little before closing his eyes again. 'You gonna follow them?' Came Takara's voice. ' No. It's obviously none of my business, plus it's late. I'll probably see them again. ' Keovi answered, a little uninsured. ' Mudpelt's still here anyway.' He said again, thinking of another reason to stay. " Ok, well G'night." Takara told him, but he was already half asleep and didn't answer her. She cuddled closer to him, curling up in his warm fur and fell asleep too.

Iceheart hung her head. she followed any way. Kyota spoke "i know you want to help, but it's a lost cause. Let's go somewhere else. Or just stay here." "No Ky, we must go. It's my duty." Iceheart coughed several times, ignored it and followed The wolves.

~Next Day, remaining wolves.. errr Keovi and Mudpelt?~

Takara prodded Keovi in the side, from on top of his back. " Wakey wakey!" She called in his ear. Keovi figited a bit then opened his eyes. He sat up, tossing Takara down and yawned widely, then turned his head in all dirrection, and saw that only Mudpelt hadn't left. His ears dropped but just enough they were barely noticable. Takara was already a Fisher, in the water and swiping her nose over the water in search of fish. " G'Morning Mudpelt, Kunamition." Keovi barked happily, though they both still seemed asleep. A slight fog was blanketed over the lake, and the grass covered in dew, but otherwise the hazy sun shone up over the mountain side and it was a comfortably cool morning. The song of many birds rang through the forest, along with the occasional splash from fish in the lake. Takara had pulled out a small fish and was trotting over to the others with it in her jaws

Mudpelt stirred slightly and then woke up all the way. She sat up and ywned and then looked around.
" Hey Keovi. There all gone? Well i think thats sorta rude. Thanks for sticking around," Mudpelt said. She knudged kuna up.

Keovi sniffed at the fish Takara had laid in front of him. " No Problem. They didn't all seem to great anyway. That pup was pretty interesting though. A blind wolf! I hadn't ever heard of one sense that old one that used to live in my own pack." He said, then bit down into the small fish, chewing it in half then letting Takara eat the rest. He was finished in a second or two, having swallowed the one bite of fish easily. Takara was still eating her bit of the fish, but was looking up and watching all three of them with interest. " If your hungry she'll catch you one too. " He added to Mudpelt and Kunamition. Getting up to all fours and stretching, he padded to the lake's edge to get a drink.

" Thats ok. Ill go catch one," Mudpelt walked downto the lake and jumped in. She loved the rush of the water rushing through her newly sprouted gills. She soon caught a trout and a catish. She then jumped out of the lake and shook her fur. She could feel her gills and fins retracting back. She then took back the fish and shared it with Keovi.
" So what are you going to do now," Mudpelt asked saddly.

Keovi watched Mudpelt go into the water, but his jaw almostdropped open in seeing what she could do. " cool." He murmered. He lowered his head to drink another moment, then returned to where Takara was finishing up her bit of the fish. " I don't really know." He responded when she spoke again. He stared over the lake to the other shore and watched a squirrel cautiously make its way to the water to drink. " Well, what are you going to do now?" He asked her instead. Takara finished her fish and started grooming.

" I really don't know. And its weird because I usually have a plan. I guess my mother was right. When I was little my whole pack could do what I can do," Mudpelt said pointing to the lake.
" And water was like air to us. My mother used to make up sayings about it like in this case she would say " Mudpelt, let the water carry you where it will". She very rarley made since," Mudpelt said laughing. She really didnt know what she was going to do. If Keovi left she'd probably go back to her den. But she didnt want to think about the countless hours she had to endure alone.

Keovi listened to her, only moving his gaze from here to watch as a small flock of birds flew across the trees in the distant forests. " Your mother sounds like a good wolf though. My parents...Not so much." He drew his ear back a bit and stared at the ground a few secconds. " But I'm over that. I'll never see them again I bet and dwelling on it won't solve anything." He said, partly to himself. " Plus I learned alot on my own. And I don't think I'd ever would've met you either, theres plenty that could've been different if they hadn't left." He tilted his head a little, contemplating this then shook his head and looked back to Mudpelt. " How come you followed me here?" He asked curiously. Takara stopped grooming and looked at Kuna for a second then got up and padded back into the water where she changed into an otter and disappeared underwater, to chase fish for a while.

Mudpelt thought about his question.
" Thats a good question. I really don't know why I followed you. I just did. My paws just took me here," Mudpelt said thoughtfully. " I know that sounds crazy, but thats all I have," Mudpelt said. Kuna looked up at her.
' I'm going to go catch some fish with Takara,' Kuna thought to Mudplet.
' I thought you didnt like her,' Mudpelt thought.
' I never said that,' Kuna thought. He then changed to a otter and followed Takara.

Keovi smiled faintly, staring into the lake where Takara had disappeared. " Well I'm going to ask you to leave, but you can if you wanted. " He paused. " But really I'd rather you not..." He said, still staring into the water. He could sense Takara's happiness towards him as she swam around with the fish.
Takara was idlely treading water just in front of a school of small fish, trying to concentrate on Keovi, but snapped back into it when she noticed Kuna had followed her. She gave him a whiskery smile underwater, barely visible because the water was murky and brown at the time. She turned around gracefully in the water and started paying attention to the school of fish that wa speeding away. She darted after them

" I'd like to stay, Keovi," Mudpelt said almost a whisper.
Cloral could since her nervousness and was about to go and help her when he saw Takkara racing away. He then decided to follow Takkara.

Takara had caught one in a few seconds and looked back behind her to see Kuna right behind. She opened her mouth to talk and only a few bubbles escaped and her fish almost got away. She bit down harder int it and fled to the surface, taking a deep breath as she broke the surface. She dropped the now dead and floating fish in front of her and watched Keovi and Mudpelt on the shore. She was quite a few feet away from shore, and stayed there waiting for Kuna to come up too.

Keovi gave her a small half-smile. " Well it's your choice. " He paused another moment and then asked, " You heard a bit about me, what about you? Just curious." He laid down again.

Kuna came up and looked at Takkara. Then he spashed water at her.
"Gotcha," he laughed.

" Well my story is quite long and sad, but I'll tell it if you really want to know. I was born in this land. I was born in the Satili forest with my mother and father, and two brother. We were coming along fine. One day this strange wolf came into our terriotry and wished to join. He was a shifty character and to a small pup to me he looked scary. I stayed away from him but my brother, when my parents wernt looking or were out hunting theyed pester him. Then one day we couldnt find the wolf . We searched everywhere but his scent had been washed aw3ay by the rain the night before. When we were all back in camp we found him at the top of a hill. He said some words I didnt understand and then a dozen wolves streamed from behind him. My brothers were the first to go. I can still here there cries. My parents were more of a challenge. My father fought all of them at once while my mother hid me. She then joined him. After awhile the the noise quieted and I took a peek from the bush theyy had hid me in. My parents and brothers bodies layed where they had fallen and my home was destroyed. I only stayed long enough to mourn there passing then I quickly left, like my mother had told me if something went wrong. I miss them even to this day," Mudpelt finsihed. the telling of the sory was to much and she sank to the ground and whimpered with mourning. SHe could see it all.

Takara shook her head sending drops of water off into each direction. A sharp toothed grin spread across her face as she took her paw and splashed her dead fish towards Kuna. " Got you back" She laughed for a moment, but her attention as directed at Keovi the next. He was listening to Mudpelt carefully, seeing the story she told him pictured in his mind as he listened. When she finished he whimpered a little also, saying, " I'm so sorry Mudpelt, that must've felt horrible to see your own family like that... " His own ears drooped, and he laid down next to her. " You probably heard me speaking with Nightwalker, that little blind pup, I was also separated from my pack, though not the same way as you. It must have been so much harder for you to move on by yourself in a situation like that..." He stared into the ground in front of his nose.

" Thank you Keovi. I learned to live thorugh the pain of losing them but it still hurts. Looks like we are both loners," Mudpelt saqid trying to lighten the mood.

Kuna laughed but then he suddenly felt a peircing in his head. Mudpelt. The peircing was going away, so he knew that Mudpelt was calming down. But he still thought that he better go see what was happening.
" Hey Takkara Mudpelt needs me," Kuna explained and then swam to shore.

"Ok, of course." Takara replied. She knew all Animas had a job to take care of their wolves, and she knew she had to be there for Keovi too. She could sense his feeling but this time choose to leave him alone for at least a little longer. She grabbed her fish and started eating it herself, floating on her back and holding it in her paws.
"Ya, I guess so." Keovi smiled a little. The morning fog was lifting and now Keovi could see clear across the lake to where a small herd of deer were grazing by the water's edge. A small fawn was standing at it's mother's side. Keovi started thinking of the nice taste of deer meat, even though he had already eaten some figh Takara caught.

Mudpelt noticed keovis gaze.
" Come on Keovi. Im hungry," Mudpelt said. She got up stretched and then waited for him.
Kuna rushed to her, but then sensed that she was better.
' Some times you confuse me Mudpelt,' Kuna thought confusedly.
' Stay out of it,' Mudpelt said blocking her thoughts. She then waited for Keovi

Keovi gladly jumped up and followed her. " I never caught anything very big before." He said a little nervously " But that doesn't mean we can't try. Let's go along through the trees so they won't see us and run before we even get there." He said, bounding towards the edge of the forest where the trees met the grass near the lake shore. It was shadowed and leafy, making good coverage from the eyes of their target. Takara made her way to shore, shook off, and ran after Keovi, changing form into a bobcat as she went. When she reached him she looked back to Mudpelt and Kuna and waited, with her ears twitching each dirrection

Kuna and Mudpelt soon caught up to Keovi in the forest srrounding the lake. She soon saw the herd and pinpointed which one she wanted.
" Come on Keovi. Its a peice of rabbit ( get it peice of cake. i crack myself up sometimes). I'll take the sick doe. You can catch dinner tomarrow. It doesnt seem like a easy catch but I can tell her strength is almost all the way gone. Follow me," Mudpelt said. She stalked the animal until she was in range. With a mighty snarl, she leaped and landed on the deer. her herd scattered noisily and left her to die. It was over in seconds. Mudpelt tugged the deer to Keovi.
" Hey lets find some shelter. I really dont want to have to sleep in the open again. I thought I saw a small wooded clearing right near where we stayed last night," Mudpelt led them to the clearing. It wasnt big but it wasnt open either. it was near the river so fishing was definatly an option. The ground was soft with dead leaves.
Mudpelt dragged the deer to the side of the clearing and sat down.
" You can eat first," Mudpelt said kindly.
