Perfect Autumn Day

"Okay. Sorry" Iceheart let Keovi guide her, and she went in the den. Iceheart opened Mudpelt's mouth and put the herbs inside. Ky came forward as a mouse and used his little hands to pinch her nose. That would make her swallow. She sat down to wait for her next task.


(I thought she was in her den.)

( I think she collapsed just outside it, when she went to see Keovi but didn't make it back inside.)

Keovi let Iceheart take over from there, as he waited outside the den anxiously. After a few moments of tenseness within Keovi he finally felt the surge of excitement come over him that came with new life. He imagined small, bouncing bundles of fur, wrestling with his tail or chewing on his ear. He smiled quietly to himself as he day dreamed more, staring out into the dawn sky, bright orange and red, slowly driving away the dark night sky over the trees. Morning was here, with it the birds awoke and prey came out from their sleeping dens. The birdsong brightened Keovi's mood considerably. He turned around to face The white wolf now. " Tell me your name." he commanded calmly, coming to face her with a strong, but dull gaze. Though his spirits were heightened, his tiredness hadn't gone away. A whole night with only little sleep was something he hadn't had for a while, but his young age kept him energetic enough to stay light on his toes.

Kia followed Keovi's anima around the lake shore to the other side. It was quieter over here, and for that she was grateful. She felt a wave of joy spread through her when Takara assumed she was accepted in the pack already. "I bet he is," she agreed, talking about Keovi. "He seemed to be a great leader, and I know right now things are hectic, but I'm sure he is nice. And, yes, I'm Kia. This is Zio," she added, motioning to the tabby cat with silver eyes right beside her. "It'll take him a while to settle in," she said, noting his still-wide eyes. Chill out, Zio. Really. It's okay. Zio sighed and took a deep breath when they stopped again. "I'm sorry," he said aloud. He raised his head, remembering their more important task and wondered why they hadn't brought the rabbits they had just caught before they left Dawn and Thunder back at the Plains. It was too far to go and get them, and they hadn't even been touched. He sighed again. Come on, Kia, I smell something over here. Kia nodded and glanced at Takara. "Zio has a scent, I think it's a few rabbits nearby in the more wooded area," she added, scenting the air for herself. "We have... a unique hunting style. Follow me and you'll see. Just stay quiet please," she added with a slight grin.

Zio nodded breifly to the two, then dashed away in the opposite direction and dissapeared quickly into the bushes. Kia bounded away, careful not to make any sound, a different direction than Zio, and dissapeared in some bushes of her own. There she sat and stared ahead at two small brown shapes before her. She waited to rustle the leaves slightly, telling Zio she was ready, until Takara caught up with her. She could see her anima straight ahead on the opposite side of the rabbits, his silver eyes concentrated on the shapes ahead.

Mudpelt only barely noticed the feeling of being pulled. Then she felt a change in temperture. It felt good. ' Thank you Keovi, my love' She wanted to tell him. The next thing she knew was someone opening her mouth and putting something in it. Then she couldnt breath! She swallowed instinctivly and then she could breath. The pain slowly dulled, but the contractions were stil pushing. It felt so weird, so weird that Mudpelt wanted it to end. SHe thought it might end if she helped.

Kuna had urged Mudpelt on all through her challenge. And then as soon as the challenge had arisen it was gone. There were now three little new piles of fur no pawing at there mother. Mudpelt had looked them over to make sure they were ok and then quickly gave into exhaustion. Kuna was a bobcat and was licking the pups to warm them. As he did so he smiled with a warm feeling in him. HE was proud of Mudpelt. There was two females, and one male. One of the femals was a tan color. The other an exact replica of her father. The male was a dark chocalate brown. Kuna already loved them.

Takara changed her form into a small brown mouse, and quietly followed Kia. She kept away from dried leaves or twigs, careful not to make a sound. Once she reached Kia she changed back into a Pine Marten, crouching soundlessly next to Kia, peeking out curiously from the bush, were she too saw the rabbits between them and Zio. Her eyes glittered but she kept herself still and waiting, knowing this was their catch, not hers.

Nightwalker moved himself between the strange new wolf and Mudpelts den when Keovi ordered him to keep the wolf were she was. he sat down and moved his ears forward, listening for the slightest movement of the female. things were just getting more and more complicated, first he had to leave Dawn early because of this wolf and now Mudpelt just has to have her pups before this wolf can be driven away. they still didn't even know what this wolf intended to do. but at least it didn't she would give them any trouble, he turned his attention away from the female for a moment to listen to what was going on inside the den. Mudplet was silent but he could the muffled sound of pup like yips, it was faint but he was there. he moved his ears forward towards the female again, she stilll hadn't made a move, Delila, who had been a mouse on top of Nightwalkers head the whole time jumped down and turned into a fox, she looked up at Nightwalker and asked "is there anything maybe i can do to help?" Nightwalker simply stated "go to iceheart and see if you can help her." Delila nodded her head and ran into Mudpelt den.

Kia twitched her ears at Takara's presence, then faintly rustled the leaves in front of her with her muzzle. The rabbits looked up for a brief second, then continued on with eating. The rustle of leaves caught Zio's eye. He raised his head but instead of letting out a loud caterwaul he just charged them. Why scare away more prey than nessicary? This would work our fine. The rabbits paniced and instinctevely fled to the nearest bush which so happened to be the one concealing Kia's jaws. She snatched one of them and killed it quickly. The other one doubled back as it saw Takara and was about to dart away, but Zio was on it before it could run. "Do you think we need more?" Kia asked, muffled through a mouthful of fur.

Keovi's ears twitched and he watched Delila race into Mudpelt's anxiously. I hope they're okay... He thought to himself, suddenly worried that something might turn out badly, but he pushed the thoughts away and turned back to the white wolf, awaiting an answer. Moving his ears behind him, however he could make out the tiny yips and noises coming from newborn pups. His heart soar inside him, but the only thing that showed his happiness on the outside was a faint smile spreading across his face momentarily.

looking at keovi snowest said, "Oh, but i allready did tell you my name, it's me, myself." she smiled lightly. then snowest's anima jumped down and announced in a squeaky mouse voice, "I amd Jack." then he leaped back up onto snowest. she stood and walked a few paces closer to keovie with her tail curled over her back, "Unless you want to know my old name, my name before the bear." she said the word bear with a growl. her eyes glittered as she stared at keovi.

Icheart smiled as she helped the little pups get into the world. She licked one a bit then reluctantly gave it to Mudpelt. She heard the fox race in as she turned to go out. "We must get food, and defend her. That's all." Her eyes had been dulled by staying awake for so long. But as she approached the gathering of wolves, her fur raised, her jaws open, and her head and tail high. Her eyes began to sparkle and hardened into white fire... "Why must you anger my pack so?" she roared "Answer their questions!" She took a step forward, and Ky, now a lynx stepped forward as well

Takara felt her pelt tingle with excitment once the rabbits looked up, but she froze, not daring to move a single muscle. She only flinched once Zio and Kia made their move, but after they finished the two rabbits off Takara relaxed, but still felt the excited tingling feeling through her fur. " That was amazing! You two are quite the hunters." She said, flshing her sharp white teeth in a grin. " I think thats fine for now. Keovi has told me that there will be a group hunt soon to bring down some larger prey. Some elk and Deer hide out in the thicker parts of the forest, higher on the territory." She explained. Takara's tail vanished into the bush as she led Kia and Zio back out into open space beside the lake. The sun was now fully visible, and birds sang alongside them in the trees as they made it back to the clearing.

'We've caught two rabbits, well kia and Zio caught two rabbits. We're coming back now.' Takara's words came faintly to Keovi. But the dark brown and gold male was preoccupied. He never moved a muscle as the female stood and took a few steps towards him, clearly not intimidated by the scene of wolves. He her muzzle drew closer to his, a low growl rumbled deep in his throat. Right now he wasn't concerned about bears, we wanted to know what this wolf wanted. " Fine then, wolf with no name, but will you care to tell us why you're here, when the borders are clearly marked to any wolf coming by to trespass? " He challenged. His deep golden gaze stared into her own, but he did not flinch a bit, but held his head and tail high, ready to protect the newest members of his pack, and his family.

Kia held her head high as she carried the rabbit, not wanting to drag it on the ground. Zio padded right behind her with the second rabbit in his jaws. As the group neared the den Kia's fur began to prickle with unease again. When the strange white wolf came into view her fur was standing on end. "Do you... want me to go give them to her?" she asked Takara, her voice once again muffled through the fur.

Takara slowly followed, coming to a stop once they reached the dens. The strange white wolf from before was standing defiantly up to Keovi, and Takara's heart sank. " Both of you take them down to her inside her den, If Iceheart won't let you in tell her I give you permission, your part of the pack now. " She said, leaving the pair to walk up slowly beside Keovi, her fur on end as she changed into a bobcat once again. Keovi's gaze didn't waver from the wolf however, he could feel her presence next to him and it gave him more confidence.

tilting her haed snowest said dreamily, "Oh, borders and scent markings are such a trivial thing, arnt they? They only have a use if the intruding wolf wants too steal prey. But thats not what im here for. And i have a name, you just have to ask nicely for it," she stared at keovi absent mindedly and sat down, "Oh and don't think i cant hear your growl. So what will it be, do you want to know my name, fight, run, scream, ectetera.... Or i could just leave if it struck me as in my favor." smirking at keovi she looked around at all the other wolves. then Jake, snowest's anima, said, "And if you want to fight youll find that we are quite good fighters."

Kia growled under her breath as she carried the rabbits into Mudpelt's den. "We outnumber you greatly so it doesn't matter, does it?" she asked, barely audible through the moundfull of fur. As she entered the den, dimly lit by the autumn sun shining through the enterance, Kia's ears twitched to the sounds of small yips further on in the darkness. She could see the shape of a wolf, more than likely Mudpelt herself, laying down at the back with small bundles of fur dotted around her belly. Kia's heart brightened, then was quickly crushed again. These pups would have a mother. They'd have a loving father and a pack to take care of them. They'd be happy and warm and safe throughout their lives... why hadn't she ever had that? She never had what these pups have. Her eyes welled up slightly at the memory; she never had anyone to care for her. Except that loner who served as her mother for all of her puphood. The wolf was nice, the closest thing Kia'd ever known to a mother. But she wasn't the real thing. She flattened her ears and tried not to break down right here. Zio pushed against her side, feeling equally sad but trying to be brave for her. Another shape loomed before them; probably the shape of Iceheart, she thought. "Iceheart?" Kia asked quietly in the darkness. She set down the rabbit beside the white wolf and motioned for Zio to do the same. "Zio and I caught these for Mudpelt. Keovi told me to give them to her." Her voice was strained, still fighting back the crushing sadness that was pushing on her right then.

Nightwalker growled flatly at the wolf, who did she think she was. even when he was a pup he knew to stay away from other wolves territory, this wolf was infuriating and he could full his temper starting to boil. he began to shift on his paws and flicked his tail irritably trying to hold back the anger that once controlled him as a pup. it was a battle that he wasn't sure he could win, if Keovi didn't do something about this wolf soon he was going to lose it. maybe not with fang and claw but his words were just as bad as any wolf's bite. Delila emerged from the darkness of Mudpelt's den "Iceheart is out there with the others so i'm here watching Mudpelt in her place. at least until she gets back, i'm not really sure what i'm doing but mudpelt and the pups seem fine why don't you place those rabbits by her."

Keovi felt his fur grow hot, and his nose twitched. He could feel his paws itching to lunge at her, but he kept himself still. This strange wolf had pushed him past his usual limit of patience and kindness, making him feel protective of hispack now, and threatened by her preseense there. The only sign of him calming down was how he drew back his snarl, but his lips still quivered. Sensing his trouble to grip onto his self control, Takara stepped up and listened carefully to her words. Keovi could feel her calmin g beside him, wishing he could relax that easily. " Ok." Takara said calmly. " What was your name then? " She said with no tint of bitterness, only intrigue. Her fur lay flat now, and she continued to send out a calm energy mostly for Keovi and Nightwalker's sake. She sat down, placing her tail over her paws and waiting patiently as Keovi's eyes glazed over, he was concentrating on his thoughts now. Takara looked over her shoulder at Iceheart and Ky to nod towards the ground, issuing them to sit and gain control over themselves before a fight broke out.

Ky had seen takara's motion, so he told Iceheart.Iceheart reluctantly sat. She calmed a bit, but she was still mad. She had become quite a fighter back in Iceclan, and warrior blood was telling her what to do, attack. She rose up once as if to defy leaders orders, then sat down. She whined in frustration. her paws flexed with anticipation. she looked around with sightless eyes, seeming to realize where she was. Home. A stab of emotion ran through her. She wasn't a Clan wolf anymore. She scented Nightwalker, and knew for sure he couldn't be her mate. She was lonely.

(Oh yeah, guess I didn't read her earlier post well enough before I posted. XD My bad, Ice.)

Kia took a step back in slight surprise, she had gotten the shape wrong. It had been Delila, not Iceheart. "Alright," she murmured quietly, padding deeper into the dim lit den. She approached the brown figure with care, making sure not to step on a loose twig or dried leaf that made up her nest. Carefully, she lay down her rabbit close enough that the alpha could reach it but not have to get up. Zio did the same, laying his catch right beside Kia's. As Kia turned back and retreated from the den she heard one pup squeak as it saw something disturb the light at the enterance of the den. Kia closed her eyes as the thought came flooding back again. She had to get out of here. She quickened her pace the rest of the way out of the den, fighting back tears the entire way.

When she emerged into the sunlight, her new pack was sitting. This confused her. The strange white wolf was still standing, and her arrogance prickled Kia's paws. She made her way up to Nightwalker and sat beside him with Zio on his other side. It looked as if he was struggling with something, so maybe, Kia thought, she could help. Zio's silver eyes stared ahead at the white wolf, his annoyance growing more and more potent.

looking at the creature that had spoken in surprize snowest said, "Honestly, i didnt think enyone would ask that. But since you did i guess ill tell you. before that stupid bear my name was Snowest." standing up snowest looked at keovi and said, "I think ill take a nap now." then snowest walked over to the bushes and layed down into them so only her tail, which was sticking out, could be seen.

Takara's ears twitched when the wolf finally stated her name. " Snowest, is it?" Was all she said, tilting her head slightly. When the wolf walked away from the group, she flicked her tail and tilted her head more. 'She doesn't even seem to notice your annoyance, there Keovi."She said to him curiously. Keovi was growling now though. " Yes, I know. I don't want to drive her off, but she's getting pretty arrogant.' He said irritably, sounding calmer as though he was able to control the urge to lunge at her. He moved towards her, still muttering a low growl, with his hackles raised and teeth now barred. The trees around them seemed to have stopped swaying in the strong winds starting to build up, yet it was only a sign he was taking more care in his actions. Takara turned her head to see what he was doing, smiling inwardly at the thought that the once shy, and skiddish young pup to a very protective young alpha. You've come far... She thought to herself.

Keovi stuck his muzzle into the bush, and used his nose to pry under Snowest and push her out the other side in one swift, fluid motion. Once she was on the other side, he growled, " I'll say whether or not you can trespass and move about freely on Goldenleaf Pack lands. So unless you tell us why you're really here, I'm afraid I won't be letting you stick around much longer." Takara felt the fur on her back rise, hearing the unwelcoming tone in Keovi's voice. Even she wasn't used to hearing him like that. ' This wolf makes my fur tingle, I don't like it. I just don't trust her.' He explained to his anima, his voice clouded with worry suddenly. ' Mudpelt just had her pups, and I'm not letting anything endanger them.' His voice came to her again. ' Oh, I know..'Takara replied sadly.

Iceheart got up and walked over, where she sat. "If you don't want to drive her out, I will. I don't like the feel of her. It's not safe." Her voice was a growl. She was sincere however. She wanted to protect her home. she was split between duty and love, and duty was winning.

Kia's ear twitched as she heard Keovi and Iceheart talking. She got up and padded over to sit beside her new alpha. "I'm with Iceheart. I'll help if you want me to," she said, wanting nothing more than to prove herself and protect her new pack. "You can stay here with Mudpelt and the pups, I'm sure Nightwalker wants to join me and Iceheart, too. Of course, it's your decision, but I don't like the way she acts around you," she added with a glance toward Snowest. "It's like she doesn't even care. We should run her off before she starts something bad."

Nightwalker couldn't stand anymore, after all the truble this wolf is causing. she think she can just stay here and do what she pleased. his claws scratched the earth under his paws, his ears twitched as the others talked about driving off Snowest and he would like nothing more but to join the others in driving her out. but he knew if he helped to driver her out his anger would get the best of him and he couldn't make any good decisions if he let his anger overcome him. he stood him and growled flatly, he then turned around walked into Mudpelts den hoping that maybe Delila and being around Mudpelts pups would calm him down. Delila was standing over Mudpelts pups when Nightwalker came in "N-Nightwalker whats wrong." Nightwalker did say a thing he sat down in front of Mudpelt.

Mudpelt stirred. The herbs were wearing off and she gained consciouness slowly. The first thing she saw were her stars alive and warm. She covered them with loving and axcious licks.
After she had made sure that not a hair was out of place she took the time to observe her surroundings. The first thing she saw was Delia nearby. She startled her a little because of her nearness. Then she noticed that Nightwalker was sitting beside her.
" Your back. Did you find your friend," Mudpelt asked as if nothing had happened. She sat up a little making the pups squirm with agitation. They soon regained there calmness.
