Menu today- deer, fresh from the forest

Delila led them into the middle of the the old camp, she turned around facing the two wolves, "here we are" Nightwalker stopped right beside Her. he swiveled his ears around listening for any sounds, but he could her nothing but the usual sounds of the forest. he then lowered his noise to the ground sniffing at the earth, he could smell a few rodents and a rabbit or two that came by. he lifted his head and faced Kai, "i don't smell anything we should be worried about. do you see anything around." he asked

Kia was happy when they finally arrived at the clearing. Old, stale, yet familiar scents told her that this used to be where they'd slept before their lakeside camp now. Kia glanced in all directions and even scented the air, even though she knew Nightwalker would have picked up anything if there was. "Nope," she responded, turning back to him again.

(Meh, shortness)

Nightwalker nodded his head, "umm alright let me see...." he lifted his nose and took in the scents trying to remember where everything was. the scents of the pack were stale but smelled a place where they seemed to all be together, "over there is the den where we all slept." he pointed with his muzzle, " We all didn't have our own dens back then but its quite big if i remember right should fit us both." Delila yawned, "well lets get so sleep then, i' bet Keovi will want us to comeback as soon as we can" she started to pad towards the den.

Zio yawned and stretched his small legs atop Kia's head. "I'm with ya there, Delila," he squeaked and hopped down from his wolfesses' head, bounding to the den happily. Kia grinned after him. "Guess he's tired," she commented softly. She let another small yawn out. "Welp, guess we should get some sleep too. I'll see ya inside," she said, and started padding slowly toward the gaping hole in the ground.

"oh umm yeah i guess so." Nightwalker replied his mind was still clouded with his feelings for Kai. He could not hide how he felt about her forever, he had to tell her sooner or later. he wanted to get this out of the way as soon as he could, but what if she didn't like him. Could he take the rejection, would he ever be able to get over his feelings for her. He sat down looking at the ground not knowing what do, "K-Kia umm can we talk first. i really need need to get something off my chest."

Kia's ear swiveled and her head soon followed as she peeked over her shoulder at Nightwalker. He was sitting down now and staring at the ground as if it would talk to him. Kia turned and made her way to sit in front of him, cocking her head slightly to the side. "Sure, what is it?" she asked.

Nightwalker was not sure how to put this into words his blind eyes continued to look at the ground as he fought for words to say to her, "Kai I.... I think i love you" he finally said not knowing what else to say about, " This is easy for my Kai i don't know what say or do. i have never felt this before but.." he looked up at her and sighed " just once i wish my eyes could see you. I can understand if you don't feel the same, i.. i just had to get this out of my system."

Kia's ears fell to her head for a moment as he uttered his words, yet her face softened. The last thing he said about wishing he could see her jerked at the she-wolf's heart and for a moment she honestly thought she'd cry. "Nightwalker..." she murmured, at a loss for words. She really didn't know how to respond, so, like a total idiot, she babbled. "I, um, thought it was cool how you helped take down that elk with Keovi. I was impressed. It's not like I could ever take down something like that." Ugh, I'm such an idiot. Why did I bring that up? she thought. She gave a short frustrated sigh and inched closer to him, finally gently touching her nose to his. "I guess what I'm trying to say is that... It's about time." She said the last words with humor in them, though she really meant them. "It's not easy to say it either, but, well... I love you too." She gave a small, shy smile, hoping by now he didn't think she was a babbling idiot.

Nightwalker tilted his head to the side, she just seemed to talk on about how he and Keovi took down that elk. He didn't understand why she brought it up, what was she trying to say. Was she just babbling to avoid the situation, maybe she didn't share his feelings. his ears flattened to his skull, he could feel his heart breaking in two at the thought. how could he have thought she could love a blind wolf. but then her nose touched his felt his heart soar when she spoke, she shared his own feelings. he felt weight of his troubles lift. his nose left hers, he slid his muzzle on hers using it to guide him to her neck. once his muzzle reache her neck he nuzzled her fur, tears flowed from his sightless eye, "I-I never thought i would find someone, i never thought anyone could a blind wolf."

Kia held perfectly still as his muzzle traced her face, then ended up down on her neck in a soft nuzzle. She rested her head on his, even though he was taller than she was, and closed her eyes into small slits. "How could anyone not love a blind wolf?" she asked, a small smile playing at the edges of her maw. "If all of them are anything like you they're the sweetest and loyalest of any wolf." She sighed contentedly and felt like that single moment could last forever.

Nightwalker felt Kai's head rest on his, he wished this moment could last forever, "I don't know, i guess its just since my family left me because i was blind i never thought anyone else could love me. he admitted to her, "i guess i was wrong for once" Delila was standing by the entrance of the den smiling at the two wolves, "if you if two are quite done we all we need our rest for tomorrow we still have to find out whats going on with iceheart. Nightwalker had pulled away from Kai, "how long where you.... never mind your right. come on Kai" he said whale padding into the den.

Kia turned quickly when she heard Delila's voice, and was embarrassed that for a moment she thought thet they were actually all alone. She'd forgotten that Delila and Zio were just in the den next to them. She giggled at Nightwalker's tone as he padded into the den to join the two animas, and soon she, too, retreated into the cool den where she found Zio, fast asleep, completely oblivious to what had just happened. She smiled at him and lay down next to him, letting yet another yawn out, and soon her eyes closed. She felt sleep overtaking her quickly. Had it really been that long since she'd last slept? She welcomed the darkness that soon followed after her restless mind.

~Next day~

Nightwalker slept with Delila curled at his side, the Birdsong through the forest waking him, he stood up slowly trying not to wake Delila. he picked his away out side of the den not wanted to wake anyone. The warmth of the morning sun on his fur, he moved to the center of the den and sat on down. his sightless eyes stared out into the forest, a smile formed his muzzle. his life had now taken a change for the better with only more good times ahead. the scent of a rabbit close by hit his nose and he decided to try to catch it without Delila. she was sleep anyway and he didn't want to work it. he followed the scent away from the den.

Blood! So much blood. It was everywhere. The grass was stained red, the leaves on the bushes crimson. This was also the place Kia had been many times over, but each time scared her like no other. Before her wide, brown eyes was a battle to the death with her adopted mother and a crazed stranger. Her mother's anima was battling unsuccessfully in a mass of fur and claws nearby, both being in the form of cats. Kia stared, frozen in place, as her mother was dying before her eyes. She should do something. But she couldn't. Her mother's sharp cry of pain made her wince, then an answering yowl came from her anima. Out of nowhere, the stranger's anima launched itself at her mother. With despairing eyes, she turned to see her anima lying dead in a pool of it's own blood. The poor thing was so unrecognizable in it's torn flesh. Her mother couldn't win this. The stranger had her by the neck and its anima held its grip firmly on her shoulder. She was going to bleed to death if nothing more. The stranger's jaws clenched tighter around her mother's neck and a last, agonizing howl rang out through the forest.

At that moment, the world transformed into a gray abyss. Nothing was here besides Kia, though the haunting sound of her mother's howl still echoed endlessly around her. It seemed as if the whole world was sucked dry of all color. Even she was gray and miscolored. This seemed so strange, so foreign. But what was so strange was that there was... Nothing. Absolutely nothing out here; it was just gray. Kia padded cautiously onward, looking in all directions for any signs of life. She pushed her body low to the ground, her tail dragging and her ears flat, as if she were expecting an attack. Even Zio was gone. It felt so strange not having him near her. A sound nearby made the young she wolf jump and she looked quickly to see... Nothing. Her eyes widened when she looked down and saw the scene under her. It was as if she were floating over this, and suddenly she couldn't move. All she could do was watch this scene again. An extremely small pup helplessly searched for it's mother, while the rest of the pack watched, unmoving. Some of them talked amongst themselves as if nothing were happening. A big male wolf was standing closest to the small, helpless pup. With her mother's howl still continuing to ring in her ears, she couldn't make out what the big wolf said, but it must have been a command because every wolf turned and left at once, leaving the helpless pup alone. The howl of her mother grew louder, and soon the small pup below her let out a cry for it's mother's warmth and protection, for someone to love it and take care of it, until Kia couldn't bear the noise anymore. It continued to grow louder and louder, ringing inside her ears, making the she wolf cringe against the ground, closing her eyes against the noise. It started getting so loud that it actually hurt, and she curled into a tight ball, trying to bury her ears away from it, but even when she did that it still rang in her head...

"Kia! Kia! Wake up, Kia!" She could hear the words before she opened her eyes and jerked bolt upright into a sitting position. Her wide, terrified eyes searched the darkness of the den she was in, and the scents of Nightwalker came rushing to her. Relaxing again, she found Zio in his usual cat form, his silver eyes looking up at her with concern gleaming through them. "You were shaking and wailing in your sleep," he told her softly, the concern never leaving his face. "It was so terrible, Zio," Kia said, a tear finding it way out and running down her cheek to leave a dark brown stain on the dirt floor. "It was so much worse than the others... I saw her getting killed and then I was all alone again..." She shivered and Zio moved closer to her. "I know, I'm sorry..." he tried to soothe. "I've never seen you shake like that in your sleep before... It scared me."

(Kinda... Depressing. o.O I wanted to kinda pull out her history again, this ain't the last time you'll see her do this. ^.-)

Nightwalker held his nose to the ground following the rabbit's scent without Delila to warn him of such little things. he stumbled over a branch or two, he even almost walked head first into a tree. He too much focus on finding the rabbit that he didn't by much attention to his surrounds, at least until he almost run into the tree he learned his lesson after that. He now moved a bit more slowly weaving around the trees. He came to a sudden halt, he thought he could hear something close by. he perked his ears listening carefully for the sound, he heard it again. a rustling sound his paws stepped lightly as he moved closer to the sound. it had to be the rabbit he had been tracking all that time. as he moved closer the rustling stopped, Nightwalker froze, did it spot him? He took in the scents, he could smell the rabbit just in front of him. Nightwalker took step closer and the rabbit bolted.

Nightwalker heard it rushing trough the vegetation and gave chase, without Delila with him he would have to be more careful then he normal would. He listened to the rabbits paws each time they struck the ground. if he follow the rabbit he should be to to avoid running into anything. with that settled he dug his claws into the earth gaining more speed to catch up to the fleeing rabbit. He caught to the rabbit quickly he was close enough for on of his jaws to clamp onto its leg. in fact that was what he was trying to do. but the rabbit suddenly veered away causing him to crash right into a tree. The blow staggered him for a moment he felt like he could stand om his own paws, "Stupid rabbit" he muttered under his breath. there was no way for him to catch up too it now, he sighed and made way back to the den with Kai and the other.

Delila sudden woke up from a throbbing pain on her head. she yelped jumping to her paws, "Ow" she sat down and rubbed her head with her paw. she then looked around the den for Nightwalker but her was nowhere to be found, " Nightwalker what happened" she asked a little concered about the blind wolf. "I just hit my head is all don't worry about it" he replyed not wanted to say how he hit his head.

Roek had smelled the scent markings, knew he was in another wolf's territory. Yet he was hopefull. Perhaps this pack would be differnt, they might want him.

And me. Corrected Lee. Roek sighed happily, and Lee. They stopped walking when they heard a serries of sounds. They padded forwad to see a wolf dashing after a rabbit. Then hit a tree.

"That wolf just hit a tree." Lee thought to Roek. But Roek didnt really notice this, he was just staring at the wolf.

This must be the pack that lives here! Lests go say hi Lee! Roek thought. He was about to Step out and announce himself with a freindly howl when he tripped on a rock and flew out of the bushes next to the wolf. Lee prayed that this wolf wouldn't attack them.

Kia's ears were plastered to her head, but Delila's voice surprised her. The she-wolf jumped, forgetting that anyone was here besides her and Zio. Happiness washed over her when she remembered. Nightwalker! she thought, and her scary dream was pushed aside... For now. "Huh?" Zio asked as Kia rushed out of the den to meet the black wolf who she'd given her heart to yesterday. Thankfully, she found him; right on his way to the den, and she slowed her pace. Zio, still lost, padded outside to watch curiously, his tail curled around his front paws. So I was right! he teased, though he was happy for her. Kia threw a grin back at him quickly, then turned to face Nightwalker again. She opened her maw to speak, but something crashed right beside the black wolf. It was none other than another wolf... Looking completely taken by surprise. Kia knew she shouldn't, but she couldn't help it, and a giggle escaped her maw before she could stop it. It seemed to have tripped instead of making a calming entrance, and completely embarrassed itself.

Nightwalker was feeling frustrated that he couldn't catch that rabbit. He wanted to give it to Kai when she woke up. It was funny, he wasn't too mad about the fact that he didn't get the rabbit. he was angry at the fact that he was unable to give something to her. Isn't that what mates did? give each other gifts, caring for one other. this was all so new to him, he hoped he would be a good mate to her; cause now Kia was the only wolf he felt this way about and he didn't want her to feel unhappy or alone in anyway like their pasts. Nightwalker heard Kia coming towards him, he stopped lowering his head a little. He opened his jaws about to say how he lost the rabbit that was meant for her. but the sounds of something tumbling through the bush and landing right next to him. he took in the scent identifying the wolf as a male rogue, "Your quite the clumsy one, you do realize you are trespassing in Goldenleaf territory" without Keovi around the job of dealing with rouges seem to just fall onto him.

Roek lay on the ground next to the wolf, one paw gingerly rubing his head. He heard another wolf come and then a giggle. He was about to giggle back when the first wolf talked. He wished that Lee would answer, but she was hiding ready to be back-up should there be a fight.

So Roek turned his upside down head to the wolf that had spoken and smiled, "Oh im not ushualy this clumsy, it was that stupid rock! GoldenLeaf? OH, this pack's name? Yeah, I came here on purpose!" Roek chattered.

Now he looked around to see the wolf that had giggled. He saw her, she was a pretty tanish she-wolf.

Tell him why were here. Lee thought to Roek.

"Oh yeah, I came here so that I could meet you guys!" Roek was once again grinning at the first wolf.

Even thought Kia knew she shouldn't, she liked this wolf already. He seemed nice and fun to be around, and she was glad he didn't pose a threat. A grin stayed on her face as she looked the wolf over. He was a multitude of colors, ranging from dark green and light green to dark brown to light brown. His eyes were cool looking, too, being rimmed with bright green around the pupil and dark green everywhere else. "What's your name?" she asked. "I'm Kia, my anima's name is Zio." She motioned back to where he now sat beside her, looking down at the new wolf with curiosity. "This is Nightwalker," she continued, jerking her head toward the black male, "And his anima is Delila." Well he seems... Happy, Zio thought, referring to the new wolf. You'd think he'd be more scared or defensive if he just caused an entrance like that. Kia huffed exaggerantly (is that even a word? o.O), and awaited the wolf's reply.

Delila padded out of the den and next ti Nightwalker to see what all the commotion was about. only to see a multi colored wolf laying on the ground, she never seen a wolf colored so strangely. he was very interesting to look at, Nightwalker stared at the wolf with his sightless eyes, he seemed nice enough though he wasn't sure how keovi or mudpelt would act towards a lone wolf in the territory given all that has happened recently, "You can call your anima out, i can smell where she is hiding anyway. So are you trying to join our pack or were u just curious." He needed to find this wolf intentions for coming into the territory so he could decide what to do next.

Roek looked back at the wolf that was smiling, "My names Roek, but you can just call me Rorek(rah-ork): it's easier to say." his smile turned to a frown of concentration.

"Hello to you Kia, Zia... NightStalker, and.. Delli!"

Lee sighed under her breath when the wolf called her out. Stepping daintily out of the bushes she answered his querie before Roek, "Roek would say we are visiting, but I know him. He has come to perhaps join." Lee's face was hard, but a freindly smirk was present.

Kia let another giggle loose when the new male attempted to address them by their names. He got her name right, but messed up everyone elses'. When the anima finally appeared, the hardness of her face surprised Kia, despite the friendly smirk that was there. The wolf seemed so happy and fun, then his anima looked more serious. She simply shrugged it off; Zio was like that sometimes. "I guess we should take them to Keovi and Mudpelt then," Kia suggested, her tone changing as she turned to face Nightwalker again. She wasn't sure how they'd take another wolf at the moment. Plus, she had to admit, she wanted more time with Nightwalker.

Nightwalker narrowed his eyes as the wolf attempted to say their names. he was only able to get one name right and that was Kai, the black male felt somewhat annoyed about it. its not like his name his hard to say, "Its Nightwalker and Delila." he repeated hoping the loner would get it right the next time he tried to say their names. He swiveled his ears that one of them was pointing to Roek's anima, listening intently while she spoke. now he atleast knew what his intentions were, there was no need to see this wolf as any kind of threat it wasn't his say whether they could join or not. he didn't have much of a choice but to let Keovi decide what to do. Nightwalker turned his head towards Kia as she spoke to him, "Yeah i was just thinking that." he replyed to Kia. his blind eyes once again rested on the new wolf Roek, "Well guess we will take you back to our leader and see what he has to say about you joining."

"NightWalker and Delila.. Okay!" Roek said aloud not to enyone in perticular. He doodled in the dirt with one of his paws while NightWalker and Kia talked. He was listening to them, it just looked like he wasn't.

Dashing up off his back and onto his paws in a not-so-fluid movement he said, "Okay, okay! Is your leader mean? Would he let me join? SHould I be afraid?"

After that little outburst he looked at the two other wolves expectantly.

Lee had been staring the whole time, now she spoke again, "Yes, it would be nice if you took us to your pack leader."

"Pleasepleaseplease?"
