Icestar, lol photobucket isn't an avvie program, its a place where you can store your files if you cant keep them on your computer. theres tons of other sites like it.
Now if you mean something to MAKE the avatars, I use GIMP, which is free and very useful.

it was made by the people who didn't like paying so much money for photoshop programs(awesome photo editing/graphic programs, cost alot though) lol so its a free download and once you get used to it its really great. google search "GIMP Free download" and find the offical site. it tells you all you need to know

Ok, twilight, I'm putting gray fur on you, then fading it to white so it gives it a fur-like texture, so it may take a while before i completely finish this step. but i only do it to give the picture more of a realism touch

If you mean the photo editing thing photobucket has on it (which it does have) then thats not really for avatars, just for editing actual photographs. I never used it, though. Just to store all my pictures and stuff, cause i dont like it takiong up space on my computer lol

how much space does it take up?

my avatars and pictures? not too much individually, It varies with the size of the image, but i just have ALOT so i cant keep them all on my computer without taking up all that space. photobucket however, can store unlimited amounts of space i think. and its free so thats even better!
